Leadership Development (Ages 14-16)

So, what to do when your teen is too old to be a camper? Prepare them for life with one of our leadership programs.

Learning skills like personal communication, servant hood, problem solving, and teamwork in a program designed to prepare your teen to become a leader among their peers and in their world.  It also prepares them to be counselors when they turn seventeen.

TeenXtreme(ages 14-16):

TeenXtreme is a new program where participants will spend two weeks with a small, close-net group of peers.  The program is designed to help teens develop their leadership potential through experiential learning, challenge course, scuba diving experience (through a local dive company), and other exciting activities:

Scuba Diving

Go Cart Racing

Rock Climbing (New Heights Rock Gym)

Mountain Biking

Hiking

The cost for the two week camp is $350

Three 2-week sessions in 2008 as follows:

Leader-In-Training (L.I.T.) (ages 15-16):

Your teen will continue the transition from camper to counselor.  L.I.T.'s will begin to catch a glimpse of what it takes to be a great counselor through daily training and discussion times with fellow L.I.T.'s that are led by a qualified leader.

These skills will be put to the test early on in the experience through

  • assisting daily with camp activities
  • working with an assigned tribe
  • continuing Bible Studies
  • challenging group activities
  • building on the servant leadership skills learned through Crew 317

L.I.T. will operate on the Monday-Friday day camp schedule for two weeks, with one evening or overnight component each week.

The cost for the two week training includes training materials, t-shirt, daily lunches and overnight adventure trip.

Leaders-In-Training are required to complete an application process.  Preference for this program is given to those who have completed the Crew 317 program.
